Texas A&M University awards two types of scholarships to highly qualified Texas community college Phi Theta Kappa transfer students. These scholarships are renewable for two years.
The TAMU Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding transfer students who will be attending Texas A&M University. Students must transfer directly from a Texas community college and have been actively involved with the Phi Theta Kappa chapter associated with their campus immediately prior to transfer. Students must complete at least 24 hours at their previous community college and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPR while at Texas A&M University. The award ranges from $1,500 to $10,000 dollars annually and is renewable for up to 2 years. Selection criteria for the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship include, but are not limited to, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, PTK involvement, academic major and, in some instances, financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- You must be a Texas resident.
- You must be a first time undergraduate degree seeking transfer from a Texas community college.
- You must be an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa chapter associated with the community college you are immediately transferring from.
- To renew, each semester recipients are required to maintain enrollment in at least 12 credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters, a minimum cumulative GPR of 3.0, and not be on conduct probation. This scholarship is renewable for up to two (2) years or four semesters.
The Texas A&M University Phi Theta Kappa scholarship is awarded for two years.
