National Merit Semifinalists are guaranteed:
Semifinalists who are named National Merit Finalists are guaranteed additional award opportunities:
National Merit scholars (semifinalists and finalists) will also compete for other freshman scholarship opportunities which are awarded in early January of the student’s senior year. These scholarships are able to be added to the guaranteed scholarships listed above.
The President’s Endowed Scholarship and the National Merit Recognition Award are considered “eligible scholarships” for the purpose of determining the eligibility of non-residents (students who are not residents of Texas) for the non-resident tuition waiver. Beginning Fall 2017, students must have a minimum of $4,000 of eligible scholarships awarded by Texas A&M each academic year to qualify for the waiver. For more information about the non-resident tuition waiver, visit scholarships.tamu.edu
National Merit Finalists who require a 5th undergraduate year:
National Merit Finalists who attend TAMU for more than 4 calendar years and have utilized all payments of their Merit Recognition Award may be eligible to receive this funding ($1,500 per semester) during a 5th year of undergraduate study.
